Fishing pools are places where you can fish up specific types of fish, wreckage crates, and other items. One of these, the Highland Mixed School, can yield a companion pet,  Mr. Pinchy! Most will also yield assorted other large fish such as  Enormous Barbed Gill Trout and  Huge Spotted Feltail, as well as  Curious Crate,  Mote of Water, and  Inscribed Scrollcase.

The only fish you cannot get from pools is  Barbed Gill Trout, although this is such a common fish that dedicated pools aren't necessary.

There is another type of fishing pool found in Nagrand that doesn't yield fish - Pure Water. The primary thing you can fish from these is  Mote of Water, and these appear primarily in the area stretching diagonally across the zone from Throne of the Elements to Sunspring Post.
