Lower Blackrock Spire - Quests

LOWER BLACKROCK SPIRE is one of the most densely packed instances in World of Warcraft, with 5-man quests tucked away in every corner. Many of these quests can be picked up in the Burning Steppes, while others can only be picked up in the LBRS itself. While rewards are varied (some aren't particularly exciting), there are a few quests that make it worth running, like getting the key to Upper Blackrock Spire.

Kibler's Exotic Pets (59+)

Category: LBRS - 5-man
Travel to Lower Blackrock Spire and use the cage to tame a Worg pup, and bring it back to Kibler. You get a little pup that you can summon.
En-Ay-Es-Tee-Why (59+)
Starts At: Kibler - Flame Ridge (BS)
Category: LBRS - 5-man
Collect 15 Spire Eggs from Lower Blackrock Spire and return to Kibler. The eggs are littered throughout the Skitterweb Tunnel.
Mother's Milk (60+)
Starts At: Ragged John - Flame Ridge (BS)
Category: LBRS - 5-man
Find Mother Smolderweb in LBRS and get her to poison you. While poisoned, return to Ragged John to get "milked."
Urok Doomhowl (60+)
Starts At: Warosh - Hordemar City (LBRS)
Category: LBRS - 5-man
Kill Urok Doomhowl, retrieve Warosh's Mojo and return it to Warosh. To start the event, you will need to combine the Roughshod Pike with Omokk's head and place the head-on-a-stick into a mound of skulls at Urok's lair. Ogres will then spawn in regularly (there will always be 3 at any time) until Urok appears.
Put Her Down (59+)
Starts At: Helendis - Morgan's Vigil (BS)
Category: LBRS - 5-man
Find the worg mother, Halycon, inside Lower Blackrock Spire, and kill her. Just to keep things fun, Halycon's mate, Gizrul the Slavener, attacks after you defeat Halycon.
Seal of Ascension (the key to UBRS)

In order to get into Upper Blackrock Spire, someone will have to have the Forged Seal of Ascension, which acts as a key to UBRS. To get that, you'll need to hit LBRS to get three gems off the big bosses, as well as one other random drop (Unadorned Seal of Ascension), before finding an elite dragon in Dustwallow Marsh to finish the key. (Note: the gems and Seal will reportedly drop in both 5 and 10-man groups.)
Seal of Ascension (60+)
Starts At: Vaelan - Hordemar City (LBRS)
Category: LBRS
Speak to Vaelan, who can be found on a ledge just inside Hordemar City disguised as a Scarshield Infiltrator. Collect 3 gems from the three major bosses in LBRS -- Highlord Omokk, War Master Voone, and Overlord Wrymthalak -- along with the Unadorned Seal of Ascension (a random LBRS drop), and bring them to Vaelan. Unless you're ridiculously lucky, you'll have to do multiple LBRS runs in order to get all four parts.
Seal of Ascension (61+)
Starts At: Vaelan - Hordemar City (LBRS)
Zones: LBRS, Dustwallow Marsh
Travel to the Wyrmbog in SE Dustwallow Marsh and find Emberstrife, a 61+ elite dragon. Use one the charges given to you by Vaelan, take Emberstrife down to low health, and use the Orb on Emberstrife to force him to breath on the seal and create the Forged Seal of Ascension (the key to UBRS).
Maxwell's Mission

If you're chasing down the key to UBRS, you should do this chain at the same time, since it involves killing the same bosses that drop the gems. First, you'll need to get "Bijou's Belongings" out of the way, and then you can return for your assault on the bad boys of LBRS.
Bijou's Belongings (59+)
Starts At: Bijou (LBRS)
Category: Lower Blackrock Spire - 5-man
Find Bijou's belongings somewhere in LBRS. Bijou himself is at the top of a ramp that can be seen through a crack in the ground in Hordemar City. His belongings can be found in few different spots: a chest in War Master Voone's room; a crate somewhere in the alleys of orcs before the Skitterweb Tunnel; or down by the lava inside the crack in the wall at the corner of the two orc alleys. Once you find his gear, you'll need to return them to Bijou for the next step in the quest.

Give Bijou's information to Marshal Maxwell at Morgan's Vigil, Burning Steppes.
Maxwell's Mission (61+)
Starts At: Marshal Maxwell
Category: Lower Blackrock Spire - 5-man
Kill the three major bosses of Lower Blackrock Spire: Highlord Omokk, War Master Voone and Overlord Wrymthalak. As a reward, you can choose from one of five different items, including Omokk's Girth Restrainer (+1% crit plate belt) and Vosh'gajin's Strand (+1% crit leather belt).

General Drakkisath's Command (61+)
Starts At: General Drakkisath's Command (letter)
Category: Burning Steppes
After killing Overlord Wyrmthalak at the end of LBRS, this letter will drop, directing you to Marshal Maxwell in the Burning Steppes. Maxwell then gives you "General Drakkisath's Demise," sending you to UBRS to kill the General (see the UBRS section below).
The Lost Tablets of Mosh'aru

This quest chain starts long before you hit level 60, with a few quests from Yeh'kinya at Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris. You'll hit Zul'Farrak, Sunken Temple, and the Temple of Zul'Mashar in the Eastern Plaguelands before you can finish the chain off in LBRS. There's very little reward beyond your choice of a few capes, but it seems likely this chain could continue in Zul'Gurub at a future point, so if you've finished the parts in Zul'Farrak and Sunken Temple, it can't hurt to finish the chain if you're passing through LBRS.
Screecher Sprits (44)
Starts At: Yeh'kinya - Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris)
Zones: Tanaris, Ferelas
Capture the spirits of 3 vale screechers in Ferelas and return to Steamwheedle Port. You can find the screechers not far from the entrance to Dire Maul.
The Prophecy of Mosh'aru (47+)
Starts At: Yeh'kinya - Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris)
Category: Zul'Farrak
Retrieve the First and Second Tablets of Mosh'aru from Zul'Farrak. The first is guarded by Theka the Martyr, the second by the hydromancer Velratha, near Gahz'rilla's pool.
The Ancient Egg (45+)
Starts At: Yeh'kinya - Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris)
Zones: Hinterlands
Go to the temple of Jintha'Alor in the Hinterlands. At the top, deep in a cave, is an ancient egg guarded by numerous elites. Retrieve the egg. It can be a long tedious fight to the top of the temple, but you can bypass many of the elites by riding your mount to the top of the temple until you reach the cave.
The God Hakkar (53+)
Starts At: Yeh'kinya - Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris)
Category: Sunken Temple
Travel to the Sunken Temple of Atal'Hakkar in the Swamp of Sorrows and summon the god Hakkar by defeating four blood drinkers and using their blood to douse the four flames in the corners. With Hakkar defeated, capture his essence within the egg and return to Steamwheedle Port.
Lost Tablets of Mosh'aru (58+)
Starts At: Prospector Ironboot - Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris)
Category: Eastern Plaguelands
Go to the temple of Zul'Mashar in NE Eastern Plaguelands and retrieve the Third and Fourth Tablets of Mosh'aru. One is located at the base of the temple, the other on top.
The Final Tablets (58+)
Starts At: Prospector Ironboot - Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris)
Category: Lower Blackrock Spire (5-man)
Retrieve the Fifth and Sixth Tablets of Mosh'aru. The Fifth can be found in the room of Shadow Hunter Vosh'hajin, and the Sixth in the room of War Master Voone.
Confront Yeh'kinya (58)
Starts At: Prospector Ironboot - Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris)
Zones: Tanaris
It turns out Yeh'kinya has been misleading you all along, and has had you running around so that Hakkar could be reborn within Zul'Gurub. When you confront Yeh'Kinya, you get your choice of two cloaks -- one that regenerates mana, and the other that regenerates health. |
