Devastation Evoker Stats

Intellect is your primary stat, found on Mail gear. Intellect increases your spell power and damage done on abilities. Devastation Mastery multiplier is 22.5% (including Evoker racial bonus).

For secondary stats, the Devastation Evoker has the following:

• Mastery: Increases the effectiveness of Mastery: Giantkiller.
• Haste: Increases attack speed and spell casting speed.
• Critical Strike: Chance for extra effectiveness on attacks and heals.
• Versatility: Increases damage and healing, and reduces damage taken.

Best Stats for Devastation Evoker

Devastation Evokers primarily favor Intellect, Mastery. Haste and Crit are not far behind. With Causality, Haste overtakes Critical Strike. Stats are often dependent on your individual character and without absolutes. That being said, A good starting point for a new 60 Devastation Evoker will be:

1. Mastery – 40% of total secondary stats
2. Haste – 40% of total secondary stats
3. Critical Strike – 20% of total secondary stats
4. Versatility – As little as possible

• Mastery > Haste > Critical Strike > Versatility

Note: In pre-patch, Mastery has less value because you have less Dragonrage uptime.

Understanding Mastery

Mastery: Giantkiller scales down linearly, which means that it is at full value when the target is at 100% health and half value when the target is at 50%. Dragonrage with Tyranny gives the full value of Mastery. This means delaying your first Dragonrage in an encounter is worthwhile so long as it doesn’t cost you a usage. Because of this, the value of Mastery Rating is based on how well you use Dragonrage.

Even in the worst case where you use Dragonrage immediately on the pull, Mastery is still strong enough to be favored.
