WoW Forgemaster Gorek Dragonflight Boss

Forgemaster Gorek – As one of the Djaradin’s most distinguished craftsmen, Forgemaster Gorek now resides in his sweltering chamber of the black dragon barracks. There, he harnesses the igneous power of the massive forge to construct deadly weaponry.

Location: Neltharus.

Important Forgemaster Gorek Trash Tips and Tricks

  • Qalashi Lavabearer will cast Throw Lava, which will put a swirl on the floor that should be dodged. It leaves a puddle of lava after it lands. The Lavabearers will also leave the same lava puddles on the floor where they walk.
  • The Melt cast from Lava Flares should be kicked, or it will deal damage to a random party member.
  • Mote of Combustion is a kickable cast from Qalashi Irontorch, which should be prioritized, as it leaves a large DoT on a random target, which will also explode after it fades if it is not dispelled. They also cast a frontal in the form of Scorching Breath, which can be sidestepped.
  • Qalashi Bonesplitter are extremely deadly mobs with multiple casts. One is Pierce Marrow, which charges a target and deals a decent amount of damage. The other is Dragonbone Axe, which leaves a massive bleed on a random target.
  • Irontorch Commander casts Scorching Fusillade which requires the group to spread out and not cleave each other with their circles, as well as Conflagrant Battery which spawns swirls on the floor which must be dodged.

  • The Forgestomp cast from Qalashi Blacksmith will interrupt any of your casts if it goes off during them. Tanks should watch out for Reverberating Slam, which will hit them hard and leave a DoT.
  • Forgewrought Monstrosity have an aura on them in the form of Forgewrought Fury, which deals pulsing damage to your party every two seconds. Healers should pay special attention on this mob and get ready to heal a lot.

There is a profession item in this area of the instance for players with Cooking, Qalashi Goulash. This will heal you, and grant you a 65% movement speed bonus for 50 seconds. The location of the pot of soup is shown in the image above.

Forgemaster Gorek Tips and Strategy

All Roles

  • Might of the Forge causes the boss to return to his anvil and is the main mechanic of the fight. When he hammers, he will deal groupwide damage. When he finishes crafting with his hammer, he will throw a Blazing Aegis at a random player, causing a large X of orange swirls to spawn from their location, which must be dodged. The Aegis will then bounce to 2 additional players, causing two additional sets of swirls to spawn.
  • Forgestorm causes swirls to spawn randomly around the room, which you should dodge.

Tank

  • Heated Swings is the tank combo of this fight, which will knock you back and leap on you, dealing a lot of damage. You should try to mitigate this in some capacity.

Healer

  • Blazing Hammer is the main healer mechanic of this fight, which occurs every time he strikes his anvil during Might of the Forge. You should be prepared to do a lot of healing during this phase, as well as dodge the circles after the fact.

Note: There is a profession item in this area after the boss is defeated for players with Blacksmithing, located at his anvil. When you pick it up, you will be granted an extra action button in the form of Blazing Aegis. This functions the same as it does on the boss, and allows you to throw it at your target and create the same big X of swirls that will deal damage to enemies inside it.
