Gulping Goliath – Deep within the caverns of the Halls of Infusion lurks the Gulping Goliath. Sire to countless generations of hornswogs, the Goliath and his brood have thrived upon the unprocessed waters of the wellspring. Driven by an insatiable hunger, he will eagerly devour any creature that strays too close to his lair.

Important Gulping Goliath Trash Tips and Tricks

Upon defeating Watcher Irideus, you will have the option to go to the right or to the left. I will recommend you take the left path (Refer to the Profession Bonuses link on the Table of Contents) since you will be able to collect Infused Mushrooms. Here is what you should know about the trash mobs that can be found in this area:

  • Stop the Elemental Focus cast from Primalist Shocktrooper, else they will transform their Lightning Blast (single-target instant cast on the highest threat target – your Tank) into Chain Lighting.
  • There are going to be Stealth Skulking Zealots around the area that will stun the first target that they get in combat with Cheap Shot. As a Healer, be ready to top up the health of your Tank, since they will be unable to use their active mitigation during the stun. The longer the mob takes to defeat, the harder it will hit due to Rising Squall passive, so watch out!
  • Interrupt the Dazzle frontal disorientation from Dazzling Dragonfly at all costs. You can also side-step it or out-range it (further than 10 yards) if you want to save your interrupt for more important casts.
  • There are going to be some Curious Swoglets around the area, they are harmless frogs that deal insignificant melee attack damage and have only one ability – Gulp Swog Toxin. However, the Poison effect stacks and it instantly kills you upon reaching 10 applications. Having Infused Mushroom will save a lot of headaches here!
  • Interrupt the Pyretic Burst coming from Flamecaller Aymi. Avoid being hit by the Molten Subduction ground animation. The mob will heal itself with Cauterize, so if you have any healing-reducing effects, apply them to it!
  • Squallbringer Cyraz is another unique mob that you will only meet once in this dungeon, just like Flamecaller Aymi. Your tank must collect the aggro from the nearby Zephyrlings once they are spawned with Zephyr’s Call.

All Roles

  • Sidestep the Cave In ground animation.
  • Quickly nuke the Curious Swoglets, they will leave a stackable Poison effect on you – Gulp Swog Toxin that will kill you upon reaching 10 stacks.
  • Once the boss casts Gulp, select one player from your party to be deliberately “consumed” to prevent him from getting Hangry Enrage Effect, in case you get it, you can always Enrage Dispel. On Mythic Difficulty you can’t Enrage Dispel the Hangry effect anymore, unlike Normal and Heroic! Keep in mind once you get Gulp you will take initial damage and get 3 applications of Gulp Swog Toxin!
  • Sidestep the Belly Slam ground animation at all costs.

Tank

  • Move Gulping Goliath closer to the Curious Swoglets to enable your DPS to cleave all targets simultaneously.

Healer

  • Top up your teammates quickly once Gulping Goliath is casting Overpowering Croak.
  • Spot heal the target that gets [spell=385551, here is a good place to use your external-defensive (like Restoration Druid’s Ironbark cooldowns!
  • Use healing cooldowns once the boss is casting Toxic Effluvia, the AoE damage will become especially dangerous if the boss is enhanced by the Hangry effect.
