Important Khajin the Unyielding Trash Tips and Tricks

Upon defeating the Gulping Goliath, continue down the river towards the third boss of the dungeon – Khajin the Unyielding. Reminder, alongside the river, there will be a few locations where you can find Infused Mushrooms (check the Profession Bonuses on our Table of Contents page). The entire area leading towards the Khajin the Unyielding is packed with Proto dragons and caster mobs that will empower them. Here are more details on what to expect:

  • The first non-boss-enemy you will face is going to be Primalist Earthshaker, who has only one ability called Rumbling Earth. Interrupt at all times to avoid dealing AoE damage and stunning all players within 8 yards.
  • Primalist Galesinger is another caster mob in this area, interrupt its [spell=385141 cast at all times. Beware that any nearby Gusting Proto-Dragon will get empowered by Primal Affinity, giving them an extra ability called Binding Winds.
  • Primalist Icecaller is the least dangerous mob in this area, stop its single-target cast ability – Ice Shards with any spare interrupts. The mob will empower any nearby Glacial Proto-Dragon and give them a new ability called [spell=391634.
  • Sidestep the Gusting Breath frontal coming from Gusting Proto-Dragon. Remember, if there are any nearby Primalist Galesinger, they will “empower” the dragon allowing it to cast Binding Winds (you can dispel the stun).
  • Sidestep the Oceanic Breath frontal coming from Glacial Proto-Dragon. Remember, if any Primalist Icecaller is around, the Glacial Dragon will have an extra ability called Deep Chill.
  • And the last dragon in this area – Subterranean Proto-Dragon, beware of its Creeping Mold cast, it will apply a stackable Disease debuff that goes on a 3 random players from your party. In addition, the Subterranean Proto-Dragon will also have dangerous frontal Tectonic Breath that you must avoid at all costs.

Khajin the Unyielding Tips and Strategy

Khajin the Unyielding

All Roles

  • Once the Khajin the Unyielding begins to cast Hailstorm, hide behind any nearby Ice Boulder or use immunity to survive.
One important note is that once you used the Ice Boulder they will become damaged and completely destroyed with the next Hailstorm], triggering Avalanche, so always make sure to find a new boulder to hide after each Hailstorm. You can still damage through the Ice Boulder.
  • Avoid being hit by the Glacial Surgerings at all costs.
  • On Mythic difficulty, Khajin the Unyielding will gain an additional spell called Frost Cyclone, make sure to avoid it and not “bait” it towards any existing Ice Boulder since it will damage them.

Tank

  • Bring the boss closer to any existing Ice Boulder to increase the uptime damage on your melee DPS, when they exit melee to hide during Hailstorm cast.

Healer

  • Throughout the whole fight, players will have Polar Winds debuff on them, don’t forget to top them up frequently!
  • Top up the health of the party members that get targeted by the Frost Shock, and dispel the follow-up slow effect.
