The Vale of Eternal Blossoms is a zone at the center of the continent of Pandaria. The Vale has great cultural importance to both the Pandaren and Mogu, particularly the Mogu'shan Palace. Formerly used as a place of experimentation by the Titans similar to Sholazar Basin, this vale of golden flowers and trees served as the seat of power for the rulers of Pandaria, such as Emperor Shaohao and the Mogu rulers following the death of Lei Shen.
After the Alliance and Horde came to Pandaria bringing their war with them, the August Celestials decided to reopen the gate after sealing it following the downfall of the Mogu Empire. The Alliance and Horde proved themselves in aiding the Golden Lotus in defeating the Shao-Tien Mogu. Later, WarchiefGarrosh Hellscream used the vale's power as a means to revive the Heart of Y'Shaarj. The Old God's power utterly destroyed the eastern half of the vale, causing some to refer to it as the Vale of Eternal Sorrows. Following the Siege of Orgrimmar, Emperor Shaohao's spirit planted a magical tree in the center of the destruction, providing hope that the vale will heal one day now that Pandaria need no longer fear the seven breaths of Y'Shaarj.
The Golden Lotus, one of Pandaria's three defense lines, will serve daily quests in the area to fight back the Mogu, which will unlock Riding Crane mounts once exalted. Additionally, in order to do dailies for the August Celestials, fighting back the Sha presence, and Shado-pan, the defense line against the mantid, you will need revered standing with Golden Lotus. TheAugust Celestials will vendor Thundering Cloud serpents once exalted and theShado-pan will reward an Onyx Cloud serpent by quest, which comes available at exalted, and will unlock Shado-pan Riding tigers at the Quartermaster to buy.
The Vale is bordered by tall mountains on three of its four sides. In terms of elevation, it sits between the Valley of the Four Winds and Kun-Lai Summit. The northern gate opens from Kun-Lai Summit while the western gate closes off the Vale from the Dread Wastes.
The majority of the Vale is covered in golden-leaved trees, giving the zone an eternally autumn feel. Paired with this are the vibrant golden grasses and many sources of water. Pools dot the landscape in the east, while a central lake and waterfall can be found near the central region. A much higher lake in the very northwestern section, close to the ruins.
