WoW Umbrelskul Dragonflight Boss

Umbrelskul – Millenia ago, Umbreskul unwittingly meddled with raw arcane power. Riddled with crystalline growths, he was taken to the Azure Vault until a cure could be found. Sadly, the Vault was sealed away before the research was completed, leaving Umbrelskul sleeping in stasis… until now.

Umbrelskul Tips and Strategy

  • Oppressive Miasma is the main mechanic of the fight. It is a stacking slow that ramps up to 50% in total. Players gain a stack every time they move, and should try to avoid getting stacks whenever possible by standing still.
  • Crystalline Roar is a frontal that is targeted at a random player.
  • Unleashed Destruction is a large amount of groupwide damage that comes out somewhat frequently. It should be mitigated when possible.
  • Detonating Crystals are spawned randomly by the boss, which must be killed before they finish their Fracture cast, which leaves a massive DoT on the party if it goes off. It is practically unhealable, so do not let any explode.
  • Arcane Eruption happens whenever the boss reaches 100 energy. It causes Crackling Vortexs to spawn around the room, which slowly move towards players that can generate healing aggro.

Tank

  • Dragon Strike is a large amount of tank damage that should be mitigated.

Healer

  • Unleashed Destruction will hit your group very hard. You should make an effort to make sure everyone is topped before it goes off.
  • The Crackling Vortexes spawned by Arcane Eruption will typically hunt you down, as you will be generating the most healing threat. As such, you should try to make big movements to get away from them whenever your slow drops, then plant until it clears again. You will have to be very conscious of your movement choices throughout this fight.

Mythic: The Azure Vault Defeat Umbrelskul in The Azure Vault on Mythic or Mythic Keystone difficulty.
The Cracked Crystal Defeat Umbrelskul after smashing Shimmering Geodes with Dragon Strike and destroying 9 Geode Chunks in The Azure Vault on Mythic difficulty.
You Must Be Made of Hide Defeat Umbrelskul without being hit by a polymorph trap or triggering a Shriek in The Azure Vault on Mythic difficulty.
