The Shadowforge Key

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dark Iron Legacy, part 1 (52+)
Starts At: Franclorn Forgewright - The Molten Span, Blackrock Mountain
Zones: Blackrock Mountain
The Shadowforge Key is needed if you want to explore all of Blackrock Depths, and these are the quests you'll need to get it. The questgiver, Franclorn Forgewright, can be found standing on a pedestal in the Molten Span. One problem: Franclorn is dead, and you'll need to be dead too if you want to talk to him. Talk to him for the first step in the quest.

Dark Iron Legacy, part 2 (52+)
Starts At: Franclorn Forgewright - The Molten Span, Blackrock Mountain
Zones: Blackrock Depths
After listening to Forgewright's story, your goal is to recover the hammer Ironfel from Fineous Darkvire and place it on the statue of Franclorn Forgewright, which opens the compartment with the Shadowforge Key. The statue is one right turn past the spectator area above the Ring of the Law; Darkvire can be found in the large area one doorway past the Vault at the center of Shadowforge City -- you'll have to fight your way down a large ramp filled with dwarves and golems to get to him.

The Vault

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Heart of the Mountain (55+)
Starts At: Maxwort Uberglint - Flame Crest (Burning Steppes)
Zones: Blackrock Depths
Fight your way to the Vault of Blackrock Depths, break into the safe and bring the Heart of the Mountain to Maxwort Uberglint in the Burning Steppes. To do so, you will need to loot 12 Coffer Keys from Dark Iron Dwarves and open every coffer in the Vault before Watchman Doomgrip spawns, who brings four golems to life to fight beside him before dropping the final key.

Dark Iron Fanny Packs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Good Stuff (56+)
Starts At: Oralilus - Morgan's Vigil (BS)
Zones: Blackrock Depths
Recover 20 Dark Iron Fanny Packs off the Dark Iron Dwarves. The dwarves can be found in several areas throughout BRD, so you really don't need to go out of your way for it.

Incendius

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overmaster Pyron (52+)
Starts At: Jalinda Sprig - Morgan's Vigil (BS)
Zones: Blackrock Mountain
Slay Overmaster Pyron and return to Jalinda Sprig. Pyron roams in front of the entrance to BRD. This is a prerequisite for "Incendius!"

Incendius! (56+)
Starts At: Jalinda Sprig - Morgan's Vigil (BS)
Zones: Blackrock Depths
Slay Lord Incendius, who roams the lower central area just outside the Vault in Blackrock Depths. Rewards are a choice of a cloth cape, leather gloves, mail bracers or plate belt, and Incendius also drops bracers with fire resist gear for a random class with each kill, which can be useful in Molten Core. "Overmaster Pyron" must be completed to get this quest.

Bael'Gar

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Taste of Flame (54)
Starts At: Cyrus Therepentous - Burning Steppes
Zones: Burning Steppes
Talk to Cyrus in his cave in the NE Burning Steppes to get the quest to kill Bael'Gar.

To get the quest, you'll need to show Cyrus the Black Dragonflight Molt, which you can get in one of two ways: (1) Do the "Set Them Ablaze" series in Searing Gorge with Kalaran Windblade; (2) if you don't have the molt, Cyrus can spawn a level 54+ Dragon for you to fight and get the Molt from. Bring a friend!

A Taste of Flame (58+)
Starts At: Cyrus Therepentous - Burning Steppes
Zones: Blackrock Depths (5-man)
Defeat Bael'Gar, a 54+ elite giant, use the Altered Black Dragonflight Molt on his dead body to capture his Fiery Essence, and return to Cyrus Therepentous.

If you have the Shadowforge Key, Bael'Gar is at a dead end just two left turns into Blackrock Depths, but you'll have to go through a number of annoying dwarven 5-pack patrols to get to him. During the fight, Bael'Gar will spawn several minions to fight for him. Once he's dead, use the Black Dragonflight Molt to capture his Fiery Essence.

Ribbly Screwspigot (The Grim Guzzler)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yuka Screwspigot (53)
Starts At: Yorba Screwspigot - Tanaris
Category: Burning Steppes
Find Yuka Screwspigot in the Burning Steppes, at Flame Crest. Yorba, who gives the quest, can be found in Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris.

Ribbly Screwspigot (53+)
Starts At: Yuka Screwspigot - Burning Steppes
Zones: Blackrock Depths (5-man)
Find Ribbly Screwspigot inside Blackrock Depths, slay him, and bring his head back to Yuka. Ribbly can found in the bar, near Hurley Blackbreath. Generally, the group will go into the empty area on the lower level with the large kegs and pull Ribbly in there to fight; fight in there; you don't want to aggro and fight the entire bar.

Hurley Blackbreath (The Grim Guzzler)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ragnar Thunderbrew (55)
Starts At: Erohan Thunderbrew - Nethergarde Keep (Blasted Lands)
Zones: Dun Morogh
Ragnar Thunderbrew is angry over someone stealing his ale. Go see him at the Thunderbrew Distillery in Kharanos, Dun Morogh.

Hurley Blackbreath (55+)
Starts At: Ragnar Thunderbrew - Kharanos (Dun Morogh)
Zones: Blackrock Depths
Travel to the bar inside BRD (the Grim Guzzler), destroy the kegs of Thunderbrew Lager, kill Hurley Blackbreath for the Lost Thunderbrew recipe, and return it to Ragnar in Kharnos. The kegs are in the same area where you should fight Ribbly Screwspigot (see above), and Hurley and his cronies will come running once you destory the kegs.

Mistress Nagmara (The Grim Guzzler)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Love Potion (54+)
Starts At: Mistress Nagmara - Blackrock Depths
Zones: Blackrock Depths, Azshara, Un'Goro
Mistress Nagmara can be found wandering the Grim Guzzler, and gives this quest, which requires you to bring her 4 Gromsblood, 10 Giant Silver Veins and Nagmara's Filled Vial.

Because you first need to get the vial from Mistress Nagmara and then fill it in Un'Goro, this quest requires more than one trip to complete, and cannot be shared. However, you can get and turn in the quest in a 10-man raid. The Giant Silver Veins are dropped by the giants in Azshara, and the Gromsblood can be bought in the Auction House if you're not an herbalist.

Once you complete this quest, Mistress Nagmara can do you the honor of opening the back door to the bar on future trips through BRD, which is the easiest of three ways to open the door (see the BRD walkthrough, part 2 , for more info).

Emperor Thaurissan - The Fate Of the Kingdom

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The final major quest in BRD requires you to take down Emperor Dagran Thaurissan in a 5-man group, which can be challenging simply to get to. For a walkthrough of the encounters leading up to the Emperor, check out the BRD walkthrough, part 2; following is a list of all the quests in the Emperor's chain.

The Smoldering Ruins of Thaurissan, part 1 (54)
Starts At: Royal Historian Archesonus - Ironforge Throne Room
Zones: Ironforge
Listen to the Royal Historian tell his story of the Dark Iron Dwarves.

The Smoldering Ruins of Thaurissan, part 2 (54)
Starts At: Royal Historian Archesonus - Ironforge Throne Room
Zones: Ironforge, Burning Steppes
Head to the Burning Steppes and collect relics near Flame Ridge. Return to Historian Archesonus in Ironforge when you're done.

Kharan Mighthammer (59+)
Starts At: King Bronzebeard - Ironforge Throne Room
Zones: Blackrock Depths
Once you're done, you return to Ironforge, where King Magni Bronzebeard asks that you seek out Kharan Mighthammer, who's being held prisoner in BRD. He's in the Detention Block not far from Marshal Windsor.

The Bearer of Bad News (59)
Starts At: Kharan Mighthammer - Blackrock Depths
Zones: Blackrock Depths, Ironforge
Once you've found Mighthammer in the Detention Block, return to King Bronzebeard with the info.

The Fate of the Kingdom (59+)
Starts At: King Bronzebeard - Ironforge Throne Room
Zones: Blackrock Depths
Defeat the Emperor and rescue the King's Daughter, Moira Bronzebeard, from the clutches of Emperor Dagran Thaurissan. The Princess will try to heal the Emperor, but she must not die if you are to succeed the quest. After clearing the entire throne room, the easiest solution is to pull the Emperor out of the Princess' healing range, and have one person offtank the Princess while everyone else kills the Emperor.

The Princess's Surprise (59)
Starts At: Princess Moira Bronzebeard - Blackrock Depths
Zones: Blackrock Depths, Ironforge
Return to Ironforge, speak with King Magni Bronzebeard and give him the Princess's disturbing news.
