The release date of Diablo 4 Season 1 is June 6, 2023. All Hell breaks loose 6.6.23. The first season of Diablo 4 will start a little after launch.
Many of you enjoy the Seasons in Diablo II: Resurrected and Diablo III and have asked for more extensive season support. We agree one of the most fun ways to play Diablo is through Seasons, so we’re making the first one available soon after launch and building a dedicated team to bring you up to four Seasons a year, each with major new features, questlines, enemies, legendary items, and more.
Every season runs for three months. A year has four seasons, each with major new features, questlines, enemies, legendary items, and more.
As the game director, Joe Shely noted earlier, we are pursuing a seasonal reset structure for our live game—Diablo is a game about choice and possibility! We feel it is at its best when you get a clean slate to start from in a season, picking a class, customizing your build, and chasing down items that support it along the way. This affords us several advantages and chief among them is that we can really shake the box of Diablo IV with each season, creating unique experiences with each of our quarterly releases.
We think it is important that players see that the game is changing in meaningful ways. Each season will be released with a fresh new gameplay feature and questline that introduces new challenges, mysteries, and possibilities into the level-up experience. This is something players should begin to experience before the end of their first hour of play. One of the benefits of our seasonal direction is that it enables fun, new ways to play throughout your character’s progression.
Each Season’s new questline will reveal more of the world of Sanctuary and your character’s place in it. Here, we get an opportunity to introduce new characters or revisit old ones while exploring the lore and content of the season.
Q: Will there be Seasons?
A: Yes! Seasons will be returning, and we’d like them to heavily impact your approach to gameplay.

The Druid is a savage shapeshifter, fluidly transforming between the forms of a towering bear or a vicious werewolf to fight alongside the creatures of the wild. He also commands the power of earth, wind, and storm, unleashing nature’s wrath to devastating effect.
The Druid is returning to Diablo IV but was first introduced in the Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction expansion back in June 2001. The Druids inhabit the northern forests of Scosglen and developed their magic independently from the eastern mage clans. They served as the warrior-kings of their tribes, usually living apart from their people in massive stone towers that were covered with vines and ivy. As masters of the natural world, they were able to control living creatures and the very forces of nature. While we only know basic information about the Diablo IV version of the Druid, it’s expected the class will stay close to the Diablo 2 Druid. The Diablo 2 Druid controlled both Elemental and Prime magic giving the class control over fire, earth, and wind. This attachment to nature allowed the class to summon ravens, wolves, vines, and natural spirits. Shapeshifting and elemental attacks are expected to play a big role in the class when it arrived in Diablo IV. Diablo IV is a work in progress and whilst the classes so far revealed will appear in the game the specific’s of theirs skills and indeed which skills they have can all change before release. |
Necromancers are cunning summoners that conjure vengeful hordes of the undead. Their Essence flows into three powerful bastions of Bone, Blood, or Shadow to bring low their enemies.
Necromancer ResourcesThe Necromancer has two resources. Essence and Corpses. EssenceEssence is the primary resource that recharges slowly over time. Essence can also be obtained using basic skills allowing players to cast their skills more often. CorpsesCorpses are literally the left over remains of fallen enemy. These remains can be used to summon minions or power other skill such as Corpse Explosion. |
The Rogue is an adaptable, agile warrior who can specialize in ranged or close quarters combat. She can best any foe with her imbued weapons, perform powerful combo attacks, and can augment her arsenal with deadly poisons and shadow magic to slay demons with impunity.

Lilith has returned to Sanctuary, summoned by a dark ritual after eons in exile. Her return ushers in an age of darkness and misery.
An old legend has it that Sanctuary was created by the union of an angel and a demon, and that their descendants—humanity—built villages, then cities and empires, spreading across the land to form the world’s cultures and civilization.
Chaos threatens to consume Sanctuary as evil and impiety continue to spread. Depraved demons and corrupted wildlife roam the land unchecked, as terrified townsfolk huddle in dark corners trying to survive one more day.
The pious plead for guidance from their faith, but doubts have them feeling that their devotion is misplaced. Lilith’s return has spawned a new wave of cultists and worshippers, but regardless of dogma, all prayers remain unanswered.
The daughter of Mephisto awakens burning urges in the hearts of those around her, be it demon, human or beast. Profound fears, unchecked rage, repressed impulses, sinful desires—all are brought forth violently and irresistibly by her mere presence.
As darkness returns to Sanctuary, a brave few dare to face this threat. But what fate awaits them in a land forsaken by hope, valor, wisdom, and justice?
