Quest Guide

Just completed this in a group. Not sure how to spark the quest while in a group, it seemed random, but we all got the quest done and received our titles.

Some helpful tips- You can die and lose your bounty, just don’t release and run back to your body. If you have some one revive you (through DK or Druid BRes, even warlock seemed to work, standard revives work too), you don’t fail the quest and can keep killing people for credit.
It did look like we needed to tag each person that died in order to receive credit.

It took me ~40 kills to get the quest, dropping group after becoming an assassin and killing some one triggered my quest. We were all able to be on the quest at the same time.

I got the assasin buff but the quest didn’t trigger so I’m not exactly sure if that’s the only requirement.

The quest will be offered to you when you become a bounty target.
It will fail if you die.
You can reset your Alliance Assassin and bounty status, without failing this quest, by leaving the zone for a couple of seconds.

You also fail the quest if you get disconnected. I was at 9/10 and Blizzard decided now would be a great time to kick me off the server. Came back in seconds later and the quest was marked as failed with 9/10 complete. I had to abandon the quest and wasn’t able to get it back even with killing more Horde. Had to go to another zone and let the bounty drop. Guess I’ll have to try again some other time. Thanks, Blizz!

The only good Horde are the ones who never leave their stinking holes.

Started and finished this today. Took around 1 hour and 100 kills for me to get the bounty, so it seems like it’s random when you get it after you have the Assassin buff.

You don’t need to be in a group with other people that are attacking the players that you are to receive credit.

Here from a Prot paladins perspective:

you cannot do it in 40man group, so you need to gather 5 people that want to do it and quickly go around, its best to be a mobile class that can get the heck away, double charger worked wonders for me.

also i sat my hearstone to boralis. whenever a 40man horde group came upon me, i would bubble and heart to boralus, as its a zone within BFA you dont loose your mark, and can actually make a new group and continue.

also this quest is shareable but, others wont be able to do it untill they themself gets the mark, so its not worth sharing.

also to people that truly wanna panic, i found if you left your group and joined another and it zoned changed you, you keep your mark and get to continue on your merry way.
iknow its not the best sportsman ship, but when you are forced to be 5man vs 40 horde. i take what i can get.
good luck

As of 8.2, this is a pretty good way to get this quest done via easily finding allies to play with:

  1. Join or make a raid in tool for the Battle of Nazjatar. Grind as many kills as you can, preferably by camping the Horde base.
  2. Join or make a group for the Call to Arms Nazjatar 25 kills quest. Now keep grinding kills between Horde and Alliance bases.
  3. Say in /1 chat that you are grinding kills between the bases for the quest and that everyone should make their own 5 man group to overwhelm the Horde.
  4. Eventually, you get the quest for the title after grinding kills for like one to two hours approximately.
  5. Now stay in the backline, play it very safe and wait until you zerg kill 10 Horde players.

Never leave Nazjatar while you are in progress or you lose your buff. The title is not account wide.

In Shadowlands I somehow managed to get the quest to pop after dying, which makes absolutely no sense. In fact, even in party I managed to get zerged, and the quest didn’t fail. Call me insane (which title I do have) but I abandoned the quest considering this is just not how this is supposed to work and I can’t find any honor in it.

I was in a big wpvp group (Anduin’s Knights ftw!) and we went from wq to wq, wiping horde, took about 2 hours for the quest to pop up.

If you drop group while in combat, you don’t zone out and can stay with your raid group, just not be a part of it, then super easy to get 10 kills!

Was at 9/10 and the screen froze and then to the loading screen.

Came back 10 seconds later and it said FAIL. Spoke to a GM about this:

I understand you’re having some issues with The Horde Slayer. So checking out your characters over, sadly that’s not something we can grant or assist with. 🙁 If you rezone, which includes things like teleporting, hearthing, or relogging (because you technically leave the zone while logged out), the quest will drop.

You can get multiple procs of this quest in one assault without leaving the zone.

Failed at 9/10, abandoned, ~30 more kills, procced again, got nuked on the spot, abandoned, ~30 more kills – got it on 3rd try. About 2h total.

Can anyone confirm if u get grounded (flying ability temporarily removed) as soon as the quest pops up?

I picked this quest up and got The Horde Slayer title today. I started up a custom group which is the easiest way to obtain this achievement/title.

Once you pick up this quest you are grounded meaning you can’t fly but you can travel on a ground mount. One important thing, you can still fly by using the anti-gravity pack while in Mechagon, hope this helps. Good luck!

For anyone having a hard time finding their 10 kills, just get in a five man group, and go from WQ to WQ. You’ll get your 10 in no time, and while you’re looking for mobs to kill, you’re getting your WQs done. It’s also a great way to make new friends.
